Types of Prosthetic Devices for Disabled Athletes We Provide

We’ve built prosthetics for:

  • Jogging and running

  • Cycling

  • Swimming

  • Recreational sports

  • Golf

  • Weight lifting

  • Ball sports

  • And more

Upper Limb Prosthetics

In the case that your arms or hands are no longer able to support your favorite sports, we’re happy to construct an upper limb prosthetic designed to suit your needs. These upper limb prosthetics are useful for activities beyond sports such as brushing your teeth or carrying a bag of groceries.

Lower Limb Prosthetics

Lower limb amputees have different options to consider as athletic prosthetic legs have come a long way. From prosthetic limbs for running to assisting you in your favorite recreational activities, you’ll find the perfect fit for your athlete prosthetic limb needs.

Prosthetic Knees

Even though the knee is a complex joint and is difficult to recreate, technology has come a long way. Regardless of the type of system that’s best for you, modern knee prosthetics can replicate your natural movements through sophisticated hydraulics.

Prosthetic Socket

A prosthetic socket joins your residual limb (the stump) with the prosthesis. All sockets are fit custom to your residual limb and should have a snug, comfortable fit to allow you to be active.

Our Process

As one of the most trusted sports prosthetic companies in the Las Cruces, El Paso and Albuquerque, we work hard to help our patients through quality recreational prosthetics.
Our Process
PrimeCare's streamlined prosthetics process works as follows:
  • Stage 1: Free Consultation

If you’re interested in learning more about our different sports and athletic prosthetics solutions but you’re not sure where to begin, take advantage of our free consultations. We’re happy to talk through your options and show you how we can help.

  • Stage 2: First Appointment and Measurements

After your consultation, we will begin working to fit you for your prosthetic device. You’ll work with a prosthetist who will take a scan or cast of your limb and take any necessary measurements that we’ll use to create your device.

  • Stage 3: Authorization

As soon as we have your information and measurements, we’ll work on some administrative steps. We will work to verify your insurance coverage and fill any prescriptions that you might need during this time. Transparency in this step will help give you peace of mind.

  • Stage 4: Prosthetics Fabrication

PrimeCare’s first-time amputees are fitted with temporary prosthetics for an initial 3-12 months. After careful monitoring and evaluation, we select definitive solutions that best suit your condition and lifestyle.
Dedicated monitoring via our app and regular checkups assessing the suitability of your prosthetic prescription as you progress is vital to ensure comfort and mobility.

  • Stage 5: Fit, Delivery & Socket Fabrication

Once the prosthetic and the socket have been fabricated, we will have the final product ready for you to try on! We hope that it will exceed your expectations and we’ll work to make sure that the fit and function are exactly what you expected.

  • Stage 6: Progress Tracking and Follow Up

Our process doesn’t stop there. Perhaps the most important step in fitting you with your prosthetic device is following up with you at regular intervals to see how you are doing and to address any issues surrounding the fit or functionality of your device.
